Smithton man arrested for DWI

A Smithton man was arrested for driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving and driving with no insurance after a vehicle accident at 7 p.m. Friday.

Daniel J. Branz, 32, was driving on U.S. Highway 50, west of state Route TT, when he overtook and struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Scott D. Teiberis, 65, of Otterville, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Teiberis was taken by private vehicle to Bothwell Regional Health Center where he was treated for minor injuries. A passenger in Teiberis’ vehicle, Raedene Teiberis, 64, was taken to Bothwell by Pettis County Ambulance District for treatment of moderate injuries.

Reports indicate all three individuals were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

Woman, child injured in crash

A Knob Noster woman and child were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 2:49 p.m. Saturday.

Bridgette L. Love, 56, of Knob Noster, was driving westbound on I-70 at the 78.4 mile marker when her vehicle struck the rear of a towed unit driven by Barry J. Ferguson, 54, of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Love and a passenger in her vehicle, Zakhai Moody, 5, were both transported to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia for treatment of moderate injuries.

Reports indicate all three individuals were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
