Parts of Missouri are at risk for severe weather Wednesday night, but Pettis County is only in a slight risk.
According to Sedalia-Pettis County Emergency Management Agency Director Dave Clippert, Pettis County is not in a tornado watch as of 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
“Even though we are in a slight risk (15 percent) for severe weather I do think it will have a tendency to stay north and east of us tonight,” Clippert said via email. “With that said, weather can do strange things, so it will pay to still keep an eye out for a rapid change. Risk time frame lasts until about 9 p.m. tonight.”
Clippert offered the following chances of severe weather for Pettis County’s slight risk:
• 2 percent tornado – Very low threat
• 15 percent wind – 60 mph possible
• 15 percent hail – Golf ball size
If severe weather does occur in Pettis County, it is expected between 4 and 10 p.m.
